Ladies at RedHawk

Red Hawk Golf Club has for years hosted a Tuesday Ladies Day open to all women golfers regardless of Club affiliation. As more women golfers came to Red Hawk on Tuesdays there was a want for tournaments, golf events, etc. in which they might participate.

They learned they could participate in the Border Association monthly tournaments involving ten other clubs. To be eligible to participate in the Border tournaments the Red Hawk Ladies Day women had to form a Red Hawk Women’s Golf Association and be members of it. In late 2016, seven women formed the Red Hawk Women’s Golf Association.

Since 2016, the RHWGA has grown in membership with some women choosing only to play at Red Hawk while others have represented Red Hawk at Border tournaments throughout southeast NM. In 2019, the Red Hawk Women’s group took first place in the Border Tournaments.

 Today, the RHWGA is still open to all members regardless of club affiliation. Ladies who wish to join the WGA have an opportunity to play with other ladies at Red Hawk on Tuesdays, to accumulate points during monthly “game day” events, enjoy discounts on certain items in the pro shop, take advantage of some golf clinics and participate in Border tournaments representing Red Hawk if they so choose.
